Terms of use for buyers

Effective 31 October 2026

Key points. Please read these before you buy.

  1. You are buying from the seller, not from Stalls. The seller answers for the products, delivery and refunds (sections 1 and 3).
  2. Our liability for our own service is limited (section 8). Your rights under Nigerian consumer law are not affected.

1. Who you are buying from

Each stall is run by an independent seller. When you buy, the contract of sale is between you and that seller. Stalls (Stalls Ltd, RC-9945860) provides the store tool and the checkout, and Paystack processes the payment. We are not a bank, we do not hold your money, and we are not the seller. If you pay with a card, Paystack's terms also apply.

The seller is responsible for the products, their description and price, delivery, and returns.

2. Paying

  • Payments are processed by Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
  • The price, any discount and any delivery fee the stall has set are shown before you pay. If the stall hasn't set delivery fees, the seller agrees any delivery fee with you after you pay; if you can't agree one, you can cancel for a full refund. You never pay more than the price shown, plus any delivery fee shown or agreed with the seller, and Paystack's card and transfer fee, which you see before you confirm. You get an email receipt. Our receipt and your order page show the order total; Paystack shows its fee when you pay.
  • Some digital products let you choose what you pay, at or above the seller's minimum. The price is then the amount you enter and confirm, and it counts as the price everywhere in these terms, refunds included.
  • Paystack splits your payment when you pay: the seller's share goes to the seller, and any Stalls fee goes to Stalls. Stalls never holds it.
  • For now you pay Paystack's card and transfer fee on every paid order. You see the amount before you pay.
  • A seller can offer a digital product for free. You pay nothing and Paystack isn't involved: you give your name and your WhatsApp number or email. The seller sees your name and what you asked for, and sees your contact details only if you tick the box that says they can contact you. Your download link for a free item works like one you paid for, unless the seller removes the item.

3. Delivery, returns, refunds and chargebacks

Each stall publishes its delivery and returns policy, linked from the stall and from checkout. Sellers agree with us to keep to our standard for refunds, cancellations and delivery. The seller, not Stalls, is responsible for doing so.

  • Contact the seller first, using the details in your order email. Sellers should answer within 3 working days.
  • If the seller does not help, message our support WhatsApp or email help@stalls.ng with your order number. We will contact the seller and try to help, but we cannot force a seller to refund and we are not responsible for what the seller sold.
  • You can cancel an order before it is sent at no charge. After it is sent, the seller may charge only reasonable costs actually spent, never more than the delivery fee you paid, and nothing if you cannot take the order because of the death or hospitalisation of the person it was for.
  • If goods are faulty, damaged, wrong or incomplete, you can return them to the seller within 3 months of delivery, at no cost to you, for a repair, a replacement or a refund of what you paid, including Paystack's fee.
  • You can also return unopened items within 7 days of delivery if you change your mind, at your cost.
  • Digital products can't be returned once you have them. If a file is faulty, won't open, isn't as described or never reaches you, the seller sends a working copy or refunds you. A free item has nothing to refund, so the seller sends a working copy if they can.
  • You can also ask your bank or Paystack to review a payment. Sellers may be asked for proof of delivery.
  • Refunds are paid by the seller, not by Stalls. The seller pays you back directly, usually by bank transfer to an account you give them, or another way you agree, within 7 working days of agreeing the refund, and records it so it shows on your order tracking page. Stalls does not hold your money and does not process refunds.
  • These terms do not take away rights you have under Nigerian consumer law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.

4. Regulated products

Some products, such as food, cosmetics or wellness products, are regulated. The seller is responsible for them being lawful and accurately described; Stalls doesn't sell these products and doesn't check sellers' listings. Reviews reflect customers' own experiences. Talk to a professional before using any product if you have a medical condition. If you think a listing breaks the law or our rules, use “Report this listing” on the product page or email help@stalls.ng. Copyright complaints also go to that address.

5. Reviews

  • Reviews come from customers, are the reviewers' own opinions, and may be removed if they break our rules. Stalls does not confirm what they say. A review of a product may also appear on other stalls that list the same product, and is marked as shared when it does.
  • Please be honest and don't include personal details about others or anything offensive.

6. Your account and orders

You must be 18 or over to buy. You do not need a Stalls account. After you order you get an email with a tracking link; anyone with the link can see your order, download anything you bought and leave a review, so do not share it. On the device you used to order we also set a short-lived cookie so you can reopen your order.

Don't misuse Stalls: no fraud, fake reviews, false reports or harassment. We may block anyone who does, and remove what they posted. The Stalls name, logo and site belong to Stalls Ltd.

7. Your information and reminders

How we and sellers handle your personal data is explained in the Stalls Privacy Policy. In short: we share your name, phone, email and delivery address with the seller you buy from so they can deliver your order.

Reorder and unfinished-checkout reminder emails are sent only if you tick that box at checkout. The seller can remind you on WhatsApp only if you tick the separate WhatsApp box. We email you after delivery to ask for a review only if you tick the review box. They all start unticked. Every reminder and review email has a link that stops them, your order tracking page has one too, and you can reply STOP to the seller on WhatsApp. No box lets the seller share your details with anyone else.

8. Limits

We run the checkout, order tracking pages, order emails and support with reasonable care and skill. We work to keep Stalls available, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or because of problems outside our control. We may change or stop any part of the service. An order you have already paid for stays between you and the seller.

We are not the seller, so we are not responsible for the seller's goods, delivery or conduct; your rights about those are against the seller.

Apart from what the next paragraph says cannot be limited, our total liability to you for our own service on an order is limited to the value of that order.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for gross negligence, fraud or misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.

9. Law

Nigerian law applies. Nothing here stops you using your statutory rights or going to a Nigerian court or regulator. We do not make buyers use arbitration.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We will show a new date on this page, and the version in force when you place an order applies to that order.
